Cachan Robotics Cup
This project was part of the IUT's participation in the Cachan Robotics Cup (2024 edition) to build a line-following robot. In our team, my role focused on 3D modeling, laser cutting acrylic for the mechanical parts, and planning the component layout on the PCB (footprint research).

We made the ambitious choice of a dual microcontroller architecture (dsPIC33 and PIC16), which unfortunately caused critical delays and led to under-dimensioned motor drivers. Although the robot did not pass the qualifiers, we learned valuable lessons from this failure. The following year, we mentored the team that took over our project ("Robert Junior"), guiding them towards an ESP32 and better drivers, enabling them to achieve 6th place nationally.
- ✓ 3D modeling and mechanical design (acrylic laser cutting).
- ✓ Component layout on PCB and routing preparation.
- ✓ Industrial feedback: shifting from a dsPIC33/PIC16 architecture to an ESP32 for the next team (6th nationally).
